Why does Radr need accessibility?

Updated October 31, 2026 · 1 min read

  1. We use Android accessibility to read trip offers from Uber Driver: the text on the screen and an image of that app’s screen. With that we do the math, show the color and, if you want, read the offer out loud.
  2. It doesn’t read other apps or tap anything for you.
  3. Before you open the settings, we show the “Turn on accessibility” notice. You only continue if you tap “Agree and continue”; “Not now” cancels.
  4. Without this permission the radar doesn’t turn on, so it’s the last one we ask for. You can turn it off whenever you want in Android’s Accessibility settings.
